Game 8 Recap: USA vs. JPN

The USA proved in convincing fashion why they're the team to beat here at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. When the two squads last met at the 2012 Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament in June, Japan handed the USA their first defeat in several years. Today, the USA looked to send a message that the loss was a fluke and they they're still the team to beat. The first quarter was a game of turnovers and near-turnovers. Both teams remained neck-in-neck and were tied 14-14 at the end of the half. During the second quarter, however, USA turned on the heat and blasted to a 30-22 lead. Japan never recovered. Line after line of Americans extended the lead and the match ended 64-48.
