Game 9 Recap: AUS vs BEL

Australia claimed the top spot in its pool with very little difficulty this morning with a 58-43 win over Belgium. So far, the Aussies have encountered very little resistance in round robin play, winning every game with a double-digit margin. Today was no different. The Belgian team started off strong and were able to force a couple of Aussie turnovers to bring the game to 15-13 at the end of the quarter. In deja vu of the Australians' last two matches, however, the smothering force of Ryley Batt and Chris Bond began to wear down and tire the Belgium offense. Despite a heroic Belgian effort, the gap widened at the beginning of the second and continued for the rest of the match. In the end, Australia won 58-43. This knocks Belgium out of medal contention.
