Game Recap 13: BEL vs. GBR
Despite a disappointing loss to Japan to knock them out of medal contention, Great Britain regrouped to defeat Belgium 54-49 this morning in the classification round of the London 2012 Paralympics. Spurred on by a crowd that got up early on a Saturday morning to cheer them on, Great Britain started off strong and played a much better team game. Though Belgium brought great energy, they occasionally struggled to handle the ball when Lars Mertens was stopped. Though the game was within a narrow 29-26 margin, Great Britain re-applied the pressure during the second half and Belgium never mounted a serious challenge. Great Britain will play Sweden tonight at 9:15 pm for 5th place, which Belgium will play France at 7 pm for 7th place.
