Dorchester, Ontario will be the site of hard-hitting wheelchair rugby action from January 24–26 when Team Canada hosts the Tri-Nations Cup at the FlightExec Centre.
Team Canada, which includes Dorchester residents Garett Hickling and David Willsie, will take on Great Britain and Denmark as they prepare for the IWRF 2014 World Wheelchair Rugby Championships later this summer. Entrance to the event is free.
Team Canada is currently ranked third in the world. Denmark and Great Britain are ranked 6th and 7th respectively and are hungry to prove themselves against Canada. All teams have reputations for their spectacular hits and strong team play.
The Tri-Nations Cup is the latest in a string of successful wheelchair rugby events to be held in Dorchester. The community is a strong supporter of the sport and even recently installed a wheelchair accessible workout facility to accommodate the national team players that train there.
