75 Days to go until Worlds!

The start of the 2014 IWRF World Championship in Denmark is fast approaching, and the final preparations are under way. Fans around the globe are encouraged to help build up the hype on Facebook and Twitter, where they are offered access to an exclusive look behind the scenes.

In just 75 days, on August 4, the action will commence in Odense, Denmark, at one of the most exciting sporting events of the year. The 2014 IWRF World Championship will see the best teams and toughest players battle for honor and gold in Arena Fyn, and the Local Organizing Committee is determined to provide a fantastic experience for both fans and players.

"For us the countdown to August 4 began a long time ago, and we are very excited that we have entered the final stretch. We set off with the ambitious goal of hosting the best championship ever, and we fully believe that we now have the foundation in place to live up to that" says Mette Holstein Arnesen, Event Director for the 2014 IWRF World Championship.

President of the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation (IWRF) John Bishop shares the optimism.

"I am looking forward to being in Odense for the 2014 IWRF World Championship, and have high expectations for both the event and performance of the teams. I believe this is shaping up to be a great spectacle for all involved, and I am counting the days" says John Bishop.

A look behind the scenes In order to provide fans with an interesting build up to the event itself and to boost interest levels, the Local Organizing Committee will lean heavily on social media. Over the course of the next 75 days and during the Championship, fans and followers will have access to an exclusive look behind the scenes.

"We want to provide fans with a fun social media experience and an inside look at the final preparations, and we are really going to try to take user involvement to the next level as we count down the days together" says Mette Holstein Arnesen.
