London Test Event Videos Now Online

Four of the world’s top Wheelchair Rugby teams recently went head to head in the Olympic Park at the London International Invitational Wheelchair Rugby Tournament, held on April 18-19, 2012.

The tournament featured teams from Australia, Canada, Sweden and host country Great Britain, and was part of the "London Prepares" series of Olympic and Paralympic test events.

Designed as a training opportunity for those who will work the wheelchair rugby competition at the Paralympics, the Test Event was a huge success. Not only did the venue and staff get good reviews, the teams who participated all gave it high marks and felt that the experience will benefit them in September.

As an added bonus, the strong media presence generated a steady flow of daily news stories and video reports that were distributed worldwide. If you were lucky enough to be in the United Kingdom at the time, you could even watch the games streamed live online. All of the media coverage created lots of new interest in the sport and Paralympic Games, which is big win in itself.

While it took longer than expected, the IWRF is pleased to announce that all 8 games from the London Wheelchair Rugby Test Event are now online in our Video Gallery. Each of the games has commentary throughout, and most feature pre and post game interviews with the players and coaches who were there. Whether you are new fan of the sport or a longtime player, we're certain that you will enjoy these games.

For those who may have missed the media coverage of the event back in April, you can still find all of stories posted here on the IWRF News page. The tournaments final standings and individual game scores are listed below.
